Join current Society Artist-in-Residence Jessica Smith for a class that allows you to welcome spring by crafting your own branch of paper cherry blossoms. One stunning branch of cherry blossoms can bring a bud vase to life, and welcome spring into your home! This more intensive class requires relative work and is meant for students who have previously worked in paper or taken the daffodil class. In class, we will make twelve flowers, model our own branches from wire, and assemble a blooming branch that measures 24 inches tall. Class packet Includes precut petal, sufficient paper, wire, coloring, and tape as well as templates.
$20 materials fee payable to the artist in class.
Jessica Smith is the artist behind Folium. She received her BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from RISD. Jessica turned to paper flower-making in 2015 as a colorful mental break from the more monochromatic, physically rigorous work of metalsmithing, and has quickly grown to an obsession that feeds off of her lifelong love of plants and flowers.
